Graduate Apprentice - Mulenga Kasoma

Hey,

I thought I would share this quick video with you guys. It's one of our past apprentices Mulenga Kasoma interviewing Nick De Bois, MP of Enfield North about apprenticeships and unemployment.

Check it out here.

What are your views on youth unemployment? Do you believe apprenticeships can help with this issue?

"Your'e Fired"

Hey,

I'm back with a dosage of apprenticeship news.

Tim Campbell - A sneaky picture I took

Two weeks ago I attended an Inspiring Future Apprenticeship Event in Waltham Forest to raise awareness of apprenticeships.  The majority of visitors were 14-16, it's encouraging to see many have interest in preparing their next steps of education.

At 14 years old I hadn't a clue what I wanted once I'd left school, it seemed far away. With so many options available than when I was looking for next steps, it was nice to be a part of something important.

Tim Campbell, the first winner of 'The Apprentice' was also there. He gave an inspiring speech about where he started and things that motivated him to get where he is today, sharing a hilarious story about when his Mum bought him a knock-off pair of Nike Trainers. It's important for young people to know, some people in the highest places today started just like them.He did a good job of engaging with the crowd and getting the message across 'that with hard work, anything is achievable'.

Now guys, I need your help. Part of my job is to film apprentice case studies to give an inside scoop on what it’s like to be an apprentice. I filmed my classmates as my first draft and would appreciate if you check it out and gave me some feedback.

What questions would you ask? How would you film it? Help me make these videos useful for you guys. Ta!

Until next time.

Just a quick one.

Hi guys,

I don’t have much to tell you apprenticeship wise this week; I was on annual leave celebrating my 21st birthday.

I do want to share news of some things looming on the horizon, including an upcoming event that may be of interest to you all.

With my apprenticeship coming to a close, my Director really wants me to focus on the DiVA Inspire segment, over the next 3 months. Designed to help motivate and inspire young people. I have been itching to get my teeth into this, but I’ve found it hard to give it the attention it deserves whilst juggling all my other work.

I’m going to try and reduce my work so that I can push on with this exciting project. Juggling tasks is a skill you need to learn for any job, it can be overwhelming at times but practice makes perfect.

So, fingers crossed, we will have some exciting interviews in the diary. Something to inspire you all.

Moving on, for all you film fanatics, I have something exciting for you. The East End Film Festival kicked off earlier this week and is one of the UK’s largest film festivals. It presents a rich and diverse programme of international premieres, industry masterclasses, free pop-up screening and immersive live events. It will be running until the 10th July so make sure you get in on the action.

Hope this short and sweet post proved to be useful.

Until next time.
